Named after the ancient 6th Century BCE Persian city ‘Bukhara’, Bokhara rugs are as famous as their namesake. They are identified by repeated, symmetrical patterns and repeated motifs in geometrical shapes. Traditional Bokhara rugs come in classic colours – rich reds, blues, and browns, with lighter highlighting colours.
You’ll notice that each rug in our Bokhara rug collection includes classic repeated oval ‘elephants’ foot’ motif, but due to the process of hand-knotting that is used to create them, no two rugs are the same.
