Real florals

With the rug as the centre piece of the room, any other faux floral should be avoided – but you can and should introduce real florals if you can.  It’s the time of year when the colours and perfume of flowers are all around us so bring them inside.  With so many clever ways to arrange flowers (YouTube has some great ideas) you’ve no excuse for just sticking a few blooms in a vase – get creative!  If you are going real – choose flowers that complement your rug colour.

Less is more

A floral rug from our Ella Claire Botanical collection is going to be the centre piece of your room – with big, bright, bold designs it’s important you don’t have competing accessories as the interior could easily start to look messy.

So, the golden rule is choose the rug with the colour and design you like and then work your interior design around it.

Contemporary or classical?

In a contemporary room, we advise selecting a rug with a large bold design, such as ECF002, ECF006  or ECF007.  The bold pink in the latter, should be the statement colour of the room.  A modern print on the wall, a lamp, window dressing and a few throws is all you need.

For a more classical look, a smaller floral such as ECF005 or ECF009 will be the backdrop of a subtler scheme.  Again, choose the colours from your rug, a pale blue in the case of ECF008, as the colour to pull the room together.
